Our Story
Centercorp Retail Properties was founded in 1983 by Mark Klaman and Andrew B. Rose. The company specializes in smaller-scale retail, including but not limited to free-standing pad sites, grocery-anchored regional strip centers, and suburban community strip centers. Currently, the portfolio is predominantly comprised of credit tenants with an emphasis on food and drug categories.
Centercorp works to create and add value to commercial properties while building long-lasting relationships with retailers and developers. With almost three decades of experience, the Centercorp team is skilled in new construction, site selection, tenant mix and property management of retail shopping centers. Examples of our success include the redevelopment of the Swampscott Mall, in which we purchased a deteriorating enclosed mall and created the community’s first shopping center strip. The property is now anchored by a 65,000 square foot Super Stop & Shop. Centercorp has also permitted and constructed several free-standing CVS’s, and has worked with several communities in order to change zoning bylaws resulting in drive-thru pharmacies and drive-thru food uses.
